Manhattan from Greenpoint at night, 1982 or so.
I lived in Greenpoint Brooklyn on Bedford just off Broadway for a while. I'd see this view most nights while walking my dog Rowlf.
(Just a brief entry tonight. I've got 4 monitors in need of color calibration.)
New York Comic Convention - early '80s
I've seen lots of news from the latest Comic-Con. Here are photos from an NYC convention at the Hotel Pennsylvania just across from Madison Square Garden. I was there with 'the Comic Times', who had a booth.
Here's Batman, looking to fill out his collection no doubt.
Wait, here's another Batman! Is this some fiendish plot by the Joker?
Here's artist Bill Plympton, though my camera kept turning towards his companion.
Here's the main floor. Unfortunately, I didn't have much money to spend, but I did get a copy of Mad #3 for $25.00.
You can see the sign for the Comic Times in the upper left of the image below. The publisher and editor are there with some of the other employees.
No Movie or TV show tie-ins back then. Just comic books.
Running Man
I have this image framed and it always gives me comfort on a hectic day like today. I see him and I know I'm not alone.
